There are lots of good reasons to run with others, and no more so than when you’re going long. Running together is more fun and sociable, it gives you the opportunity to explore new routes without the fear of getting lost or putting your personal safety at risk and, in the case of a Running Forever guided run, enables you to quiz experienced coaches on anything from race nutrition to footwear, correct pacing to tapering.
Our group guided runs are mostly on trail (see individual runs for more details on surface) in the countryside surrounding Rye and nearby historic and picturesque villages. We are lucky to be based in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, with long-distance paths including the High Weald Landscape Trail, 1066 Walk and Saxon Shore Way on our doorstep and a wealth of scenic variety, from woodland to orchards, rolling hills to tranquil towpaths.
Our runs range in length from 90 minutes to 2 hours 30 minutes and usually take place on Sunday mornings (again, check individual runs for details).
We run by time, rather than by distance, so that everyone can settle into their own ‘long run’ pace without feeling held back or pressurised. Faster runners cover more miles by way of additional loops or out-and-back sections.
These runs are open to runners of all abilities – they are especially good for people who are gearing up for half and full marathons and beyond.
Can’t make the dates, or want something a little different? We are happy to offer bespoke guided runs to individuals or small groups (up to four participants) in the Rye area. Let us know your preferred distance or duration and pace, and we’ll do the rest.
