Running is for everyone. Not just stick-thin Lycra-clad speedsters who are only interested in PBs and podiums. At least, that's our philosophy. Our formula - to welcome runners of all abilities and aspirations to friendly, inclusive and fully coached sessions - has been behind the success of many running groups, including the Hackney Marshes Women's Running Group in London, Rye Runners in East Sussex and Tenterden Runners in Kent. We've now passed these groups on to the capable hands of members of our coaching teams but we continue at the helm of Curious Runners, Ashford.
Our aim is to help everyone find a passion for running and create a lifetime habit that will pay dividends to their physical and mental wellbeing. While some of our regular attendees are talented competitors, others wouldn’t dream of toeing the line of a race, and come along for fitness, fun and friendship. No matter what your goals, pace or experience, you will never be left out, left unchallenged or left behind.

We devise sessions that are fun, challenging and enjoyable – but all the while, we’re applying the latest coaching science to help elevate your running.
The way they are structured means that everyone gets to work at their own level, enabling us to accommodate runners of very different speeds/abilities.
People often ask ‘how far do you run?’ but there’s no definitive answer, because we don’t base our sessions on distance. In the course of the hour, we might cover anywhere between 3 and 6 miles, but it is never in the form of a continuous steady run.
Instead, we focus on ‘quality’ training like intervals, speedwork, hills or tempo efforts, along with some drills and exercises to improve technique, strength and efficiency. Sounds scary? It’s not! It’s a lot more fun than plodding out mile after mile and a great way to elevate your fitness.
That's not to say you should never run easy - in fact, it should be the mainstay of your training. But you can do that on your own, whereas it's far easier to do the quality work with guidance, support and a few friendly faces.
